Hoisin-Ginger Chicken Wings

Ingredients

3 lb. chicken wings (1.5 kg)

MARINADE:

1/3 cup soy sauce (75 mL)

1/4 cup hoisin sauce (50 mL)

1/4 cup rice vinegar

3 tablespoons packed brown sugar (45 mL)

4 cloves garlic minced

1 tablespoon veg. oil (15 mL)

2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger root (10 mL)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes (1 mL)

Directions

MARINADE: In bowl, combine soy sauce, Hoisin sauce, vinegar, sugar, garlic, veg. oil ginger root, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes; mix well. Place chicken in plastic bag and pour in marinade; seal bag and place in large bowl. Refrigerate for at least three hours, or for up to 48 hours, turning bag occasionally.

Grill winks 4-6 inches from hot coals, turning ti prevent burning, for 25-30 min. or until chicken is done and juices run clear. Makes about 6 main-coarse servings.
